As per Article IV of the Constitution, there is a meeting of ISTRY at least every 3 years which includes a meeting of the council. They have been running successfully since the first meeting in Padova in 1974 and have since traveled all around the world with meetings held in the USA, Japan, Germany, the UK, Italy and for the latest one Australia.
These meetings give the opportunity to all the scientists working in the field of tryptophan research to meet, to present their latest work, and more importantly to exchange ideas and initiate new collaborations.
The quality and the diversity of the scientific work presented in the ISTRY meetings is continuously growing.
It is essential to keep these meetings happening and to have as many speakers and as much variety as possible. We should also encourage more and more students to attend the ISTRY meetings.
Our next meeting shall take place in Kyoto, Japan. It will run from September 18-21. For more information, see Kyoto 2018’s official website.
